The nice thing about team penning is that you can forget your normal life for a few days and pretend to be a cowboy/girl. My friend seemed so contemplative here though, that I wondered what she was thinking about. As soon as she saw me, she lamented that she hadn't been smiling for the photo. I told her it made for a nice image and I refused to take another one. What do you think?

Tell, your bud that having people smile for photographs is over-rated. I love seeing her as is. She looks real. It's a great portrait, especilly since she looks "seated" and engaged with her horse.
I like the pic, but I think shes thinking there she goes with that camera again.
A smile would have been artificial. You caught her at exactly the right moment. She really seems to be intent on her cow wrangling duties.
