Home Away From Home

I took over metal fence panels last week to make a semi-permanent stall for Kitch. He's happy because I connected them to the panels of a couple of my girlfriends', so he has other horses for company. That's Handy behind him, Opal diagonal to him, and Smoke beside him. My father made him that wonderful nameplate! Isn't it great? Although, I am concerned that people will start showing up with plates...

Kitchen Window

Yesterday evening, as I fed the horses their supper, I snapped a picture, because I wanted to show you my favorite part of living here - that's my kitchen window, over Kitch's back! I can look out anytime and see our horses...

Dreaming of summertime...

It's snowing again, so I needed a pick-me-up. This is one of my favorite photos from last summer. Our youngest, up on Kitch, headed off for an adventure with his trusty sidekick, Daisy!

Muddy Horses

We got a lot of rain overnight, which made the pasture muddy. Apparently Kitch thought it would be a great idea to roll around and get dirty! I figure he's sticking his tongue out at me in response to my, "OHMIGOSH! You're a mess, Kitch!!" I don't think he cares. ;-) I thought it was funny how Tillie was just peeking up over him, hoping that I wouldn't notice how muddy she was too...

From my front door...

So sorry I missed posting yesterday - I've injured my back, so I'm confined mostly to the couch, with a little bit of walking around the house allowed, as I feel up to it. I was racking my brain, trying to think of something interesting to post, and came up with this idea - repeating my very first post! Compare the view out my front door today, with the view back in February...

Soooo sleepy...

Poor Kitchy is all tuckered out...now that the weather is cooling off, the horses are much more active...I hope he gets to take a nap today!

Can I help?

My husband was shoveling a path to the horse pen this morning so that he could bring them their breakfast. They sure were anxious for him to finish!
