July 2008 Theme Day: "No . . ." signs

Too bad he can't read! He might ask his owner to move him...
We had to post this sign up on the show secretary's booth at our team penning events. In the past, riders would lead their horses up to the booth while they were signing up for classes. There would be all these horses and people milling around in a small area. As well-behaved as most of the horses are, it was an accident waiting to happen. At the very least, someone was going to have their foot stepped on by a horse - ouch!
Today you can click on the following link and see "No" signs from all over the world!! Enjoy!!

Hey I have a similar, but completely different, sign up on my blog. Didn't realize it was such a popular theme (I'm off to go check small city scenes). Z in Villigen CH.

Well at least there was a good reason for the sign.

At the arena I went to, the stand they had was 10 feet off the ground. I kept asking myself why was it so high up when there appeared to be no reason for it. Then they started telling everyone who wanted to sign up to come up and pay. They didnt walk up and stand in line, they rode up and waited in line on their horse. Eye level was 10 feet. Pretty funny.

I also notice which end of the horse is pointed toward the sign. Is this horse giving us a subtle opinion? :-)

It has been quite a boring theme day but there is the odd one that lifts the spirits and this is one of them

I love the theme post which show a violation of a "no sign" in the same scene.

Denton from Greenville and the Daily Photo Map.

Great image and amusing too.

Great post!

what a tricky scene. This area had equine influenza and a lock down created a lot of worries in the horse world.

I think the horse read the sign and ignored it just like the kids . . . Enjoy the rest of theme day!

Maybe the horse can read but is ignoring it by turning the other way round. :-)

Happy Theme Day!

Oh great! You've done what I hoped to do - find a dog to post on my No Dogs Allowed' sign. I had no luck. You did and it works. Funny - and lovely photo too.
