May Theme Day: Numbers

These are the numbers that upset my husband (and I'm sure lots of other people too!) the most!! Personally, I try not to worry about the things that I can't control...

There are 181 other blogs participating in today's theme. Have fun today checking out how everyone else interprets this theme. It's amazing!!

I fear I have little sympathy for Americans who complain about the price they pay for gas - try coming to Europe!

Sally said...

I don;t know what that translates to in Australia, (where we buy petrol by the litre) but I think it's about half what we pay.

America is in for a rude shock if it has to start paying the prices the rest of the world pays!

See who lives at my house!

Our prices were $3.67 yesterday and no doubt will hit $4.00 tomorrow.

Whatever number it is, it will be dearer tomorrow. Gppd choice.

We are paying $3.65 right now for regular.

Tanya Breese said...

We are paying about the same.

Gerald at Hyde, I've been hearing you are paying around $10 a gallon?

Jim Klenke said...

Y'all are about a dime more than we have here. If we had good public transportation like in Europe, it wouldnt seem so bad.

Jilly said...

Looks like many of us are getting upset over petrol prices. We can all buy bicycles.

My first thought was, "Those are daunting numbers, but the rest of the world would laugh at us!" Sure enough, the comments confirm my first reaction. Why do we all pay those outrageous prices? Can't the world leaders do something constructive about this? I would assume that a concerted effort among nations would produce positive results, or am I just being naive?

OUch! But your gasoline is cheaper than ours right now.

I thought of putting a similar photo ... but our situation is so sad!!

Right now in Italy fuel costs almost 1,4 euro per liter... that is 2,23 dollars per liter ..

1 gallon are 3,79 liters so that makes 8,45 dollars per gallon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. I can relate to your husband being upset. Everytime I drive past the gas stations I get upset too! Especially when my tank is getting low.

Those numbers are daunting, but as we can see from some of our European and Aussie compatriots, we don't have it so bad yet :( Have a great theme day! And thanks for all your visits.

America is going to have a very, very rude shock one day - pretty soon! The dream of cheap oil and the war being fought for it is all coming tumbling down.

Get used to it, cos it'sd a finite resource and there ain't gonna be anything that can be done - world leaders or not , kate! The best thing they can do is start seriously investing in publictransport and renewable energy.

That's per gallon, right? So I did some calculations:

Here (Australia) petrol is sold by the litre. There are 3. 8 litres to an American gallon. Petrol - standard unleaded - here is between about $1.40 and $1.70 per litre (depending where you are and day of the week) - so the equivalent of between $5.32 and $6.50 / gallon. Cheaper than Europe.

If it didn't take so many gallons of gas to drive to your town I'd be coming by to buy my gas there. You're about 25¢ less expensive than here in Seattle. Numbers I really don't like. But then Ham has a point for sure! Great choice for theme day.

Ouch, your picture just remind me how much I spent last time I filled-up my car. Not good. Excellent idea for this month theme.

I suppose I can't complain so much in Dallas...
I think I want to buy an electric car! :]

Today our price was 1.20/litre (4.55 per gallon) in Ontario, but that's not as bad as Europe and the rest of the world. Unfortunately, we'll have to get used to it, I'm afraid.

Neva said...

I want to cry everytime I see the gas prices....we are 20 cents higher here.

symooI guess we all have to learn that there are other ways to get around than in a gas driven vehicle. MB

Bet those numbers just keep going up :-)
