Saturday afternoon our team penning club hosted a beginners' clinic. During part of the training session, the riders dismounted their horses and learned to move the cows around on foot - learning where their pressure points are and which directions you should move in to encourage the cows to walk, turn or stop. Because they are much more mellow and safer to work around, the cattle producer brought in some dairy steers, but this one was just a wee bit too friendly!!

LOL, so many bad jokes I will stay away from.
Do you happen to know what a handicap drawpot is? They are suppose to have one every Sunday at a local arena....except for yesterday, when I drove down there.
Too funny. animals will get ya everytime.
Jewel, Kylee's horse was Kylee's mother's penning horse until Jewel decided she didn't like moving into the herd anymore. she is fast and quick. MB
Thanks for your visit to my blog Brookville Daily Photo this morning. I hope you enjoyed my post today showing the honey bee and the hollyhock flower.
I saw a special last night about the disappearance of honey bees and it is sad to think that most of the fruit, nuts and vegetables we eat would disappear with them. So governments are busy trying to
find the culprit before it is too late and one huge problem is the use of insecticides.
Anyway, I wanted you to know I was here to repay your visit and comment with one of my own. Kind of like "Kilroy" was here... remember those drawings everyone used to make?
I enjoyed reading your blog post for today and I thought the photo
of the cow was fantastic but don't think it could have felt that good. That has got to hurt.
Looks like somone learned an unexpected lesson in cow wrangling. This city girl will note, and keep her distance.
a cow in love; _)
