Not to be out-done by his step-sisters, my son built a snowman to go with their snowlady. One of the girls took Rusty out to meet him...

I can't believe we had a full fledged snowstorm overnight! We got about a foot of wet, heavy snow - perfect for making a snowlady!!

It's a tough day to be a bird...

Winter has overstayed its welcome...

Even the kids, who love to play in the snow, have had enough! Hopefully today's warm sunshine will melt some of it away...

2nd Day of Spring?

Mild temperatures makes for nice, sticky snow that is perfect for building snow-forts!

The ice storm that started last night & has caused lots of flooding, has also caused lots of damage to the trees...power crews are working hard to restore electricity since it is going to get really cold again tonight & people need to heat their homes...we are grateful for our fireplace & to a local store for cooking us supper!

And this is why we didn't want to come home from Tennessee...

Our adorable little Westie...who kept getting buried in the snow! She's so happy that we got some rain on Saturday night, which made a crust over the deep powdery snow. She can get around much better now...

A Welcome Sight

We got well over a foot of snow today...but, unfortunately, our plow broke. Finally, late this afternoon it was fixed. Now we can get ourselves plowed out!

ATTACK!!

Yesterday's family party included a huge snowball fight...5 men vs. 12 kids. It ended in a draw...or rather, I told them when it was over & it was time to go back indoors. ;-) Everyone got completely covered in cold, wet snow...but they had a great time!!

We've enjoyed a relaxing day at home with the kids today...so glad that we had it off for the holiday!

Girl Power

We got LOTS & LOTS of snow today...it's blowing right back into the paths as they are shoveling...it's quite frustrating!

At least it wasn't snowing, but boy, was it blowing!! Lily is so fuzzy though, she didn't seem to mind at all - she was out exploring the pasture...

Let's do that again!!

These aren't my boys, but they were having such a great time, that I had to have their picture. They are running their tubes back over to the tow rope so that they can head back up the hill. You might have noticed that they aren't wearing coats - we've been enjoying temps in the 40s (Fahrenheit) this weekend!
