Typing is a Challenge Today

I had to wear a bandage on my index finger because my sweet little AlyCat bit me! I'm not sure that I blame her though. I was shoving a pill down her throat. I might bite someone if they did that to me too!!

Ready 2 Run

It's Rusty!

You would think he was a rock star if you could see how the kids react when they see him! He's definitely their favorite...& he just loves them right back. Unconditionally. That's the best thing about pets!

Basket Case

Aly loves it when I weave...and she always has to get right in the middle of it!! After rolling around & playing with the reed for a while, she laid inside the loops & took a nap. It was quite humorous! She was a very happy kitty.

Apparently he was finished with chasing the birds off the feeders...

My Favorite Cat

AlyCat, overlooking the snowball fight on Sunday, from the relative safety of the deck. She was not a happy girl, but she refused to run & hide like Rusty...

Awww...come ON!!

After a long day spent cooped up in the house, Izzy, the Westie, was excited to play with Rusty, the cat! I'm not so sure that Rusty was as excited as she was...but on the other hand, Rusty doesn't ever seem to get excited anyway...

"Lemme in...it's cold out here!"

Rusty was looking in the kitchen window at me when I got home this evening...

Izzy was posing for me, dressed up in her Santa outfit, when Rusty jumped into the chair with her. Fortunately, my trigger finger is quick!

Cat in a box?

Apparently, Aly thought this Tupperware container looked like a good place to take a nap!

Rusty-Roo

My old pony saddle decorates our living room and adds to the Western ambiance. Rusty was pretending to take a ride, so I just had to have a shot! ;-)

So sweet...

..and yet when he's not sleepy like this - what a little devil!! Our furniture will never be the same and he's pulled the curtains down a time or two. Rusty is a perfect example of a healthy, happy kitten - they play hard! And then crash, and sleep for hours....

Curiosity did what?

Rusty was trying to catch that bright light that kept flashing at him. He just couldn't figure out what it was. It was too funny!

Meet Rusty!!

Remember the kittens that my son's best friend's cat had a couple of months ago? We did get one! I brought him home yesterday afternoon and surprised the boys. They were thrilled!! And we're all very much in love with him already. He's such a sweetie! As soon as you give him attention he starts purring and he won't quit until you put him down. He just loves to snuggle...and climb your pant legs - ouch!!

More kittens...

My co-worker brought 4 new-born kittens to work yesterday, hoping to find someone that could help them. They were born the previous night. Unfortunately, their loving mother developed a bad case of mastitis and could not nurse them because of the antibiotics that the veterinarian had to prescribe. As you can see, their owner was trying to bottle feed them, but it wasn't going well - they wanted their mama! I quickly made a phone call to my friend whose cat just had kittens last week and asked if we could try to see if she might adopt some more babies. And she did!! I was so very happy to be able to help these little cuties!! I'm still working on the husband, but he's standing firm. Wait 'til you see the photo that I'm posting tomorrow - he took it to further prove his point...

Calico

You guys all know me so well! Of course I want a kitten! (Unfortunately, the hubby doesn't agree.) This is my choice - a perfect calico, my favorite color. Our oldest wants the gray kitten that I showed you yesterday. Our youngest isn't so picky - he'd take them all!!

Awww...

Our friends' cat had kittens the other day! I finally got to see them today - they are soooooo cute!!!!

Cat Nip

Our pets are members of the family and we don't forget them at Christmas. The doggies got treats and the kitties got cat nip! The boys & I spent a couple of afternoons stitching little fabric mice, which we stuffed with nip. Aly thought this was a wonderful idea and got right in the middle of everything! She rolled in the catnip and spread it all over the house. It was really funny! I heard from my sister-in-law Christmas morning. Sometime during the night her kitties had discovered their presents under the tree, tore the wrapping paper off and had a cat nip party!
